Samsung's Galaxy A24 was one of the very few expected-but-unconfirmed devices that had yet to receive One UI 8.5. That has finally changed, as the brand has now started rolling out the new software to one of its popular mid-range smartphones from 2024.
At the moment, Samsung is rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5 to the variant of the Galaxy A24 that it sells in South Korea (model number SM-A245N). The update that brings the new skin is 2,400MB in size and carries firmware version A245NKSU9FZF1.
The company should release One UI 8.5 for the Galaxy A24 in the remaining regions gradually over the next few days. One can check its availability and get it by navigating to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Since it is a major update, the firmware download and installation time might be high.
One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2 and brings a user interface with a new design and additional features. Starting with the new UI, you get a transparent blur effect and floating bottom bars in first-party apps. As for the new features, you get Apple AirDrop support, partial screen recording, direct voicemail, and much more.
